Ingredients

Hero Strawberry Bakery Jam

Plain Goat Cheese

Sheets of Les Boulangers Pie Dough

60 g / 2 oz cup

Preparation
Step 1: Prepare the Dough

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly flour a clean surface for rolling out the dough. Roll each sheet of pie dough to about 1/2 inch thickness. Use a round cutter (about 5 inches in diameter) to cut out circles from the dough. You should get approximately 5 circles from each sheet of dough.

Step 2: Assemble the Empanadas

Place a small circle of Hero Strawberry Bakery Jam in the center of half of the dough circles. Next, add about 42 g (1.5 ounces) of softened goat cheese on top of the Hero Strawberry Bakery Jam on each circle. ​

Step 3: Seal and Bake

Brush the edges of each assembled empanada with the egg wash (whisk the egg with water). Place another dough circle on top of each filled circle. Press the edges together firmly to seal and use a fork to crimp the edges. ​

Step 4: Bake

Transfer the assembled empanadas to a parchment-lined baking sheet. Brush the tops of the empanadas with more egg wash for a golden finish. Bake in the preheated oven for about 18 minutes, or until the empanadas are golden brown and crisp. ​

Step 5: Serve

Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy these delicious strawberry and goat cheese empanadas. ​
